Race 6 – Mystery Paddle 2020

This years mystery paddle will be 2 events based at Tobruk Pool giving paddlers the ultimate opportunity to collect category and series points (and hopefully have a bit of fun). This will also provide a bit of fun for friends and family so bring your cheer squad along!
Event 1 – Elimination Challenge
Paddlers race 1km laps with the last paddler (or 2) in each lap eliminated (approx 6-8 laps). Lap 1 will be a non elimination lap.
As soon as the last paddler finishes a lap, paddlers will ready to start the next lap (maybe a minute or 2 rest).
Long Course Male, Long Course Female, Short Course Male, Short Course Female & SUP will be separate groups for this event.
POINTS
Category Points: Paddlers awarded 2 points for every lap they complete
Series Points: 4pts for First, 3pts for Second, 2pts for Third, 1 point for completing lap (for each group)
Event 2 – Out&Back or Triangle Course
Paddler race an out&back or triangle course of 6-8km (Long Course) or 3-4km (Short Course) dependent on conditions. This course will start and finish at Tobruk Pool.
This course will be timed and points awarded as per standard system. Points
Event 1 and 2 may run in any order depending on weather. There will be a short break between each event (30min) depending on paddlers.
Race Briefing: 14:45 pm
Start time: 15:00 pm
Start/Finish location: Tobruk Pool
Presentations: 6pm @ The Sailing Club. Feel free to enjoy a burger and salad while waiting for presentations
Please note:
There is no parking allowed on the grassed areas in front of, or adjacent to, the sailing club. Parking may be difficult so make sure you arrive in plenty of time for race start.
Vehicle access to the grassed area in front of the sailing club is not permitted.
Leaving boats/boards on the grassed area in front of the sailing club is not permitted, i.e. no event vessels allowed on the grass! Inside sailing club grounds or on the beach is ok.
Please abide by these conditions. They have been imposed by Council and you/we could be fined, or we could have future permit applications denied, if council officers identify breaches.
