NQOPS 2017 Info book Race 2 Magnetic to Mainland

Date – 23rd April 2017

LONG COURSE -14km – 18km
Briefing time – 1pm @ Nelly Bay
Start Location – Nelly Bay (kayaks loaded onto 12:35pm Barge)
Start Time – 1:30pm
Finish location – Pallarenda Beach

SHORT COURSE – 8km
Short Course Briefing time – 1:00pm
Short Course Start time – 1:20pm

Magnetic to Mainland Long Course starts from the beautiful Nelly Bay, Magnetic Island- paddling 14-18km back to Pallarenda beach (finish location may change based on wind. Other possible finish locations are Rowes bay, Strand rockpool, Strand park, Tobruk pool).

Short course will start and finish at Pallarenda Beach (or the new long course finish location if it changes).

LONG COURSE

Competitors will get to Nelly Bay via Fantasea, all Skis and outriggers can be loaded onto the 12:35pm Barge Fantasea barge. Paddlers can also paddle to the island the day prior or the morning of the event if you are up for it.

Loading of kayaks opens: 12:00pm. The barge leaves the terminal at 12:35pm. All boats will need to be loaded onto the barge by 12:35pm.
